Publication Ethics
The International Journal of Economics, Management and Social Science (IJEMSS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. All parties involved in the publishing process—editors, authors, reviewers, and publishers—must agree to the following ethical standards and responsibilities.
1. Duties of Editors
-
Ensure a fair and unbiased review process by selecting appropriate and qualified reviewers.
-
Make editorial decisions based solely on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal's scope.
-
Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and do not disclose information about a manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or other editorial board members.
-
Take appropriate action if ethical complaints or conflicts of interest are reported regarding a submitted or published manuscript.
2. Duties of Authors
-
Authors must submit original work that has not been published elsewhere and is not under consideration by any other journal.
-
All sources and references must be properly cited. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable.
-
Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
-
All authors must have significantly contributed to the research and writing of the manuscript and agree with its final version.
-
If the research involves human subjects, authors must include a statement of ethical approval and informed consent.
3. Duties of Reviewers
-
Reviewers must conduct reviews objectively and provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of the manuscript.
-
Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified or unable to review the manuscript within the stipulated time should notify the editor and decline the invitation.
-
Reviewers must keep all manuscript information confidential and must not use the contents for personal advantage.
-
Reviewers should alert the editor if they detect any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and any other published work.
4. Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct
IJEMSS has a strict policy against plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarized material or fraudulent data will be rejected or retracted.
5. Retraction and Correction Policy
IJEMSS will retract a published article if:
-
There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable.
-
The article contains plagiarism or has been published elsewhere without proper citation.
-
There is evidence of unethical research practices.
Corrections or retractions will be made transparently and published in the journal, indicating the reasons for the action taken.
This Publication Ethics Statement is based on guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and reflects IJEMSS's commitment to ethical publishing and integrity in scholarly communication.
