The Influence of Leadership Style and Work Motivation on Employee Performance in Surakarta City

Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style and work motivation on employee performance in Surakarta City. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a survey technique. The population in this study is all employees of companies located in Surakarta City totaling 75 people, with a sample of 63 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the aid of SPSS version 25. The results indicate that leadership style has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (t-value = 3.412; sig. = 0.001), work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (t-value = 4.178; sig. = 0.000), and leadership style and work motivation simultaneously have a significant effect on employee performance (F-value = 28.456; sig. = 0.000) with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.483. These findings imply that improving leadership quality and strengthening work motivation simultaneously can substantially enhance employee performance.
